5. GEM assesses the supplied unit and carries out the supported, agreed work. If the required procedure is unsuitable, further action is discussed first.

The limits of postal testing

The complete vehicle is not available during a postal assessment. The service cannot verify external wiring, connected components or every in-vehicle operating condition. Vehicle diagnosis, removal/refitting, coding and calibration are excluded unless expressly agreed. A severely damaged or unsupported module may not be repairable.
