How the UK-wide postal service works
Step 1
Find your service
Choose the module category and read the relevant service information. Repairing an original unit and preparing a replacement can require different work.
Step 2
Check compatibility
Send the make, model, year, module type, part number, symptoms and fault codes. Include clear original and donor label photos where appropriate; registration can be supplied in the enquiry.
Step 3
Receive confirmation / purchase
GEM confirms support, the work scope and what to send. If an existing Shop service is appropriate, use the agreed product to purchase; otherwise request a quote. Do not buy a donor before compatibility is checked.
Step 4
Send the module
Use the confirmed delivery details, suitable protection and tracked delivery. Include your order or enquiry reference and contact details. Read the full posting instructions before dispatch.
Step 5
Bench assessment and agreed work
GEM assesses the supplied module and performs the agreed programming, data transfer or electronic repair where supported. Unreadable data or damage can limit the available options.
Step 6
Return delivery
The supplied module or agreed original/donor pair is returned under the applicable order arrangements. Return-postage charges are shown at checkout. Confirm timing with GEM; turnaround depends on the job and workload.
Original, donor or both?
Cloning and data-transfer work normally needs the original and a compatible donor, with readable supported data. Original-module repair and supported SRS crash-data reset normally start with the original unit. Send only what GEM has agreed; a donor is not automatically included in a service purchase.

Postal service questions
Can I use the service outside Birmingham?
Yes. Suitable electronic modules can be sent by post from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland after GEM confirms support and dispatch arrangements.
Should I buy a donor first?
No. Send the original label and any proposed donor details first. Part number, hardware, software and data condition affect compatibility.
Does a listed product guarantee support?
No. Shop products describe service categories. GEM must confirm the actual module and requested work before purchase or dispatch.
How long will the work take?
Ask GEM for a current estimate once the module and proposed work have been reviewed. Damage, data condition, required procedures and workload affect turnaround.
Will the module be ready to plug straight in?
That depends on the agreed service and vehicle. Installation, scanning, coding or adaptations may still be required; confirm what remains to be done in the vehicle.

Does the job need manufacturer programming?
Cloning, electronic repair and OEM programming are different routes. If the complete vehicle must be connected, GEM checks remote programming through your garage first; selected mobile/on-site support in Birmingham and surrounding West Midlands areas may be available by arrangement. Compare the programming and postal options, and send both module details before buying a donor where possible.

Postal service is the preferred route for supported cloning, data transfer, repair and bench work. Confirm the module and procedure before dispatch.

Check remote compatibility first. The vehicle remains with your suitably equipped garage or technician.
